Election Day at Roosevelt
Posted on 11/04/2024
On the eve of Election Day, the students of Roosevelt School had the opportunity to experience what it is like to vote for the next American President. Thanks to Mrs. Argila's 5th grade social studies classes, our student body had a full experience. Our 5th graders pushed into all classes from grades K-6 and led age appropriate lessons about Election Day and provided details regarding each candidate. On November 4th, each homeroom was called to the main hallway and provided their registration identification. From there, one booth was meant for the primary grade students (K-2) and the other booth was for our upper elementary students. The upper elementary students used the actual mock ballots which were donated by the Superintendent of Elections in Bergen County. Our students had a great time with this experience and also received a traditional "I Voted Today" sticker to acknowledge their civil duty.
